Mal's original notion of a quiet little country garage to work on classic cars', didn't quite work out that way. Word spread quickly, and boosted by the encouragement of like minded friends and enthusiasts, and the support of his wife Val, he developed the site to cater for the range of skills necessary and assembled a team of craftsmen to help him produce the high quality demanded. The emphasis is firmly on sports and racing cars, some of them so rare, they are the only remaining models in the world, trusted by their owners to be restored to first class condition.

Treasured classics of all makes and models, nevertheless, all receive the same care and attention.

An important part of the work at Trentside is the on-going special projects which Mal not only initiates and oversees, but puts in hundreds of hours of his spare time in the actual process of recreating some of the rarest of historic cars. The purpose of which is not just the self indulgence of boyhood fantasy, but a means of showing customers the process of development and the skills involved. So they may admire and wherever possible experience for themselves, the beauty and performance of these magnificent beasts.
